Transportation Mechanic


POSITION:
   TRANSPORTATION MECHANIC

LOCATION:
MANITOU SPRINGS SCHOOL DISTRICT
405 EL MONTE PLACE
MANITOU SPRINGS, CO 80829

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Have a valid drivers license with ability to obtain a Colorado CDL license
  • May have to drive a school bus with children on board
  • 1+ years working with gasoline and diesel engines preferred
  • Familiarity with the latest vehicle diagnostic equipment preferred
  • Will be closely involved with the day-to-day operations of school bus transportation system
  • Demonstrates an ability to work well with others
  • Must possess CDE Annual Inspector and a Brake Qualification Certificate, or willing to attain necessary certification
  • Fingerprint/background screening required
  • Pre-employment drug screening required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repair and maintain MSSD fleet
  • Work with drivers and supervisors to diagnose mechanical problems
  • Utilize the latest in diagnostic equipment to accurately pinpoint vehicle issues
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and alert supervisors to issues that will prevent vehicles from passing inspection
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
  • Plan and organize work
  • Demonstrate loyalty and dedication to the purposes and goals of the School District


TERMS OF  EMPLOYMENT:  
8 hours per day / 260-day/year M-F, 8:00am - 4:30pm

DUTIES: 
Assists in the maintenance of the District's school buses, support vehicles and
various maintenance equipment to assure their safe, effective and efficient
operation with no interruptions to the educational and support programs,
with school bus vehicles safety being the primary concern.

SALARY:  Salary to be determined based on experience

SITUATION:  District-wide position
