JOB DESCRIPTION:
* The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and other key duties that may be required. The district reserves the right to modify or change the duties or the essential functions of this job at any time.
* Conduct new employee onboarding processes. Onboard employees recommended for hire by collecting and tracking new hire paperwork (including benefits), providing communications with employees throughout the process, verifying start date with school administration, assisting in weekly orientations, verifying background and fingerprinting information and interfacing new hire personal and position information between applicant system and the employee portal.
* Collect, compile, analyze, and calculate new hire salary placement based on appropriate contract language and documentation provided. Create correspondence to all employees for any changes in salary. Provide salary placement information and estimates to candidates and applicants interested in positions in consultation with the HR Director and CFO.
* Administers leaves of absence for the school system. This process involves receiving inquiries and requests for various types of leave from employees; explaining the information needed for the leave; meeting with the employee requesting the leave to work out the details of the leave and to ensure understanding; completing insurance forms and letters to notify appropriate parties; and ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal rules, regulations, and laws.
* Serves as the contact person for employees requesting leaves of absence.
* In partnership with the CFO and Director of Human Resources, prepares and issues employment contracts and letters to newly hired employees.
* Serves as licensure specialist. Answers licensure questions, maintains license information and acts as liaison between CDE and MSSD. This includes documentation of required trainings (e.g., mandatory reporting, CLDE, READ Act). Maintains a current Licensing Coordinator license with CDE.
* Submits accurate and timely submission of local, state, and federal reports.
* Supports investigations including allegations of harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, Title IX, and other claims of wrongful treatment of staff
* Maintain and support licensed performance evaluation system, providing security set up, maintenance, data validation, troubleshooting and annual start up process.
* Manage the substitute management system, including the technical and functional aspects, provide training, program management, direction, and assistance to staff using the system in various capacities to ensure the district maintains a high absence fill rate. Provide customer service to all levels of stakeholders, including administrators, office managers, and substitute staff by receiving and responding to questions and requests regarding information and processes in the systems. Responsible for troubleshooting daily operations of the substitute management system; entering various types of absences; tracking leaves; assisting school staff with creating, canceling, and editing employee absences. Compile and manage employee data in the system. Create, run, and analyze report data.
* Maintains Human Resources applications and systems, communicating changes and updates as necessary.
*Supports strong systems for the interview process (i.e., posting to Frontline, advertising, interview teams, orientations, committee work).
* Manage long term substitute process including verifying eligibility for assignment, calculating retro pay and monitoring and submitting paperwork for start and end dates. Manage the substitute temporary leave process.
* Attends meetings as necessary and for the Director of Human Resources.
* Support various HR Projects such as CLDE and READ Act licensure requirements, department audits, system enhancements or updates, website updates, Frontline user maintenance, etc.
* Participates on district committees as needed.
* Prepares reports related to projects and areas of responsibility.
* Performs other related work as required.

260 days $45,000-$65,000 (Based on previous relative work experience)
