TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
8 hours per day, 178 days per year
6:00am – 2:30pm, can vary based on District need
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Must complete a fingerprint/background check
* Demonstrate ability to lift up to 30 pounds
* Directs sanitation procedures as established by County Health Department
* Toleration of various temperatures
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Food service and computer experience preferred
* Must complete a fingerprint/background screening
* Work cooperatively with others
* Demonstrate reading, writing, and math ability
* Demonstrate ability to follow instructions
* Enjoys working with children
* Demonstrate ability to lead others
* Excellent attendance record and promptness
* Drive District Vehicle to and from the central kitchen and schools
* Unlock cooler, freezers, and storerooms
* Turns on ovens, steamer, dish machine, overhead vents and heat cabinets
* Check menus for the day for both breakfast and lunch
* Get food out of walk in and freezer for breakfast and lunch
* Cooks elementary, middle, and high school breakfast food items and labels pans and has them ready to transport.
* Prep and cook all main menu entrees, veggie, etc. for all 4 schools
* Pull freezer items for the following day
* Labels all pans for the different schools
* Accepts orders as the arrive in the morning
* Verify production sheets are completed with food items, counts, and temperatures before they leave the central kitchen and ready to transport
Puts food away from all 4 schools that come back to the kitchen daily
* Cleans all areas in the kitchen daily
* Puts away any orders that come in daily
* Supervise and participate in cleaning of kitchen area, storage area
* Check supplies for menus on a weekly basis so they can be ordered
* Orders food and supplies on the order board
* Inspects the kitchen for cleanliness and sanitary requirements
* Responsible for checking that all equipment in kitchen area is in safe working condition and notifies Director of Nutrition Services when repairs or replacements are needed
* Do monthly inventory
* Assigns, directs, plans, and supervises the work of kitchen employees
* Any deviation in normal work schedule must have prior approval of Director of Food Services
* Assist in preparing kitchen for opening of school year
* Assist in preparing kitchen for summer break
Tools and Equipment:
Be able to operate dishwasher, ovens, slicers, mixers, warming trays, steam equipment, can opener, calculator, and drive delivery van as required. All tools and equipment may not be listed
